APPS 2019 Workshop (http://appsworkshop.cs.ucy.ac.cy)
APPS 2019 is the 1st International Workshop on Adaptive and Personalized
Privacy and Security, held in conjunction with ACM UMAP 2019 - User
Modelling, Adaptation and Personalization, June 09, 2019 in Larnaca,
Cyprus. APPS 2019 aims to bring together researchers and practitioners
working on diverse topics related to understanding and improving the
usability of privacy and security software and systems, by applying user
modeling, adaptation and personalization principles.
At APPS 2019, we presented a paper which gives an overview of the Serums
project, describing its objectives, technologies, and challenges related
to privacy and security in next-generation patient-centric healthcare
ACM UMAP – User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization – is the
premier international conference for researchers and practitioners
working on systems that adapt to individual users, to groups of users,
and that collect, represent, and model user information.
At UMAP 2019, we presented a paper that investigated the feasibility of
building a classifier that predicts the type of the image content a user
is processing, after collecting a few seconds of eye-tracking data
during graphical password creation.
Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems is the
premier international conference of Human-Computer Interaction held in
Glasgow, UK, May 04-09, 2019. CHI is a place where researchers and
practitioners gather from across the world to discuss the latest in
At CHI 2019, we presented two work-in-progress papers: one paper that
presented the flexible user authentication paradigm that will be applied
in Serums, and another paper that presented a research prototype of a
mixed reality graphical password system that was built as a native
Microsoft HoloLens application.
The SERUMS consortium met for an exciting two-day meeting in Zuyderland hospital in Sittard, Netherlands. During the meeting, we had a fabulous tour, which included these amazing photos photos of the hospital!
The University of St Andrews has released an official press release for serums.
